i have a washing machine which does not work. If it did work, it would be quite a lot better than the one that I am using, but I don't know too much about fixing them.
I think the error code says "communication error" and I've asked the manufacturer for clarification of what that might mean, but they have declined to reply.
I could of course, engage the service of a professional, but I suspect it may be beyond economic repair and I object to paying to be told that.
Or I could just break it up, and see what interesting things can be made out of the insides...

it only cost me a tenner to discover that i could get a new one cheaper than fixing the old one useful things include planter/burner many things need a motor and a few drive wheels water pump/maybe some pipes the ferrocrete is a nice dense mass as a counter weight for something i spose the case would make a luxury gerbil cage ,chook roost or similar

We are thinking of using the drum of an old one to act as an agitator for washing apples.

I was thinking of making something I could bolt onto a concrete mixer in place of the drum for seiving compost....

That should be easy enough to achieve,

One Smallmine i worked at,made a similar system for screening housecoal,they used a Parker diesel mixer,welded different sized mesh in lengths,running through tractor back tyres as stabilisers for the length,set at a graded height to the hopper which fed the length of mesh screen,and produced 4 sizes of housecoal.

That will be the communication error then.

The drum makes a great garden incinerator or chiminea.

Have it anyway: Widl 126. Quite a good name for a leaky washing machine I thought.

I woke up this morning wondering if I could make it into a cement mixer...

No problem, but no, cannot help. Apparently, if you'd bought another shoddy but good looking Italian brand (Smeg) we'd be all over it.

They suggest you buy Bosch. Miele are the very best, but no-one can afford them, even with our trade discount. Bosch are very good, and the best to repair. This is probably no help.

When it is a freebie, you can't really be fussy about the make. At worst it's worth its weigh in scrap.
